Closed (sort of)

TEOM as you know it has been closed. I will keep it up for reference but it no longer will receive tutorial updates.

There are plans for a completely new site. If you'd like to be notified once the other site is up, simply subscribe to my mailing list.

Thanks for the support throughout all these years :)

Illustrator CS2

The secret palette

This is just a curiosity tip really, an attempt to explore Illustrator’s deep hidden secrets, as most likely you’ll never need to use the “secret palette” anyway.

Just for fun, hit Alt + Ctrl + Shft + F12. Quite a weird box comes up, doesn’t it? Well…

...have you ever heard of a thing called Debug Palette? If you haven’t, don’t even bother looking for it in the Help file because you won’t find it. Don’t bother visiting menus either. Not even the palette shows its name!

The only place where you can find it is under Edit » Keyboard Shortcuts » Menu Commands » Other Misc.

This is actually a developer tool and there’s very little that you can do from it – unless you are a developer.

One thing that you can do, however, is decrease the memory used by the program by clicking the Purge Undos button, located right after the memory information at the top of the palette.

Not being a developer myself, that’s all that I know about the “secret palette” =)
