Closed (sort of)
TEOM as you know it has been closed. I will keep it up for reference but it no longer will receive tutorial updates.
There are plans for a completely new site. If you'd like to be notified once the other site is up, simply subscribe to my mailing list.
Thanks for the support throughout all these years :)
Paint Shop Pro 7
Broken Text

Create a new image.
» Settings: any size you wish, 72 dpi, background color = transparent, image type = 16.7 million colors.
Enter your text.
» Settings: floating = checked, antialias = checked.
Place the text on the canvas and deselect.
With the Freehand tool, make a random selection all over your text (in other words, move your mouse like crazy =D), similar to what is shown below.
» Settings: selection type = freehand, feather = 0, antialias = checked.

Hit Ctrl + X or go to Edit » Cut.
Hit Ctrl + L or go to Edit » Paste » As New Layer.
With the Move tool, move the pasted bit up, down, left or right…
Deselect.

Tip: merge the visible layers and repeat the steps to break the text even more.
