Closed (sort of)
TEOM as you know it has been closed. I will keep it up for reference but it no longer will receive tutorial updates.
There are plans for a completely new site. If you'd like to be notified once the other site is up, simply subscribe to my mailing list.
Thanks for the support throughout all these years :)
Paint Shop Pro 7
Chrome Text
Create a new image.
» Settings: any size you wish, 72 dpi, background color = transparent, image type = 16.7 million colors.
Set the foreground to null and background to black.
Enter your text.
» Settings: floating + antialias = checked.
Deselect after you place the text on the canvas.
Apply an Inner Bevel effect.
» Settings: bevel = second image counting from the top left corner, width = 10, smoothness = 35, depth = 10, ambience = 0, shininess = 75, color = white, angle = 315, elevation = 40, intensity = 35.
Note: decrease the smoothness when working with large letters.
Go to Colors – Adjust – Curves.
Choose the RGB Channel.
You’ll be working with four nodes: to add a node, simply place your mouse pointer on top of the line until you see the + ADD sign.
The locations for each node are the following (starting from the bottom left node):
1. input = 64, output = 189
2. input = 128, output = 63
3. input = 194, output = 191
4. input = 255, output = 255
Now you can either leave the text like this or add a Drop Shadow effect.
» Settings: vertical + horizontal = 1, opacity = 100, blur = 5, color = black.
