TEOM as you know it has been closed. I will keep it up for reference but it no longer will receive tutorial updates.

How I did it:

First I selected the blue areas of the image (the background) since the main purpose was to change the hand’s color and the pills’ contrast.
To select the bottom part I used the Magic Want tool.
» Settings: RGB Value, Tolerance = 100, Feather = 0. For the other areas I used Tolerance = 25.

Then I inverted the selection and added a new Adjustment Layer: Channel Mixer.

Then I added another Adjustment Layer: Curves.
