Closed (sort of)

TEOM as you know it has been closed. I will keep it up for reference but it no longer will receive tutorial updates.

There are plans for a completely new site. If you'd like to be notified once the other site is up, simply subscribe to my mailing list.

Thanks for the support throughout all these years :)

Deformation Tool

Updated on July 01, 2004 for isometric deformation.

When using the Deformation tool you can use more than just the mouse, you can also use the keyboard.
Below are the keys and respective effects that you can use:

Ctrl key: perspective change.
Use it on the corner handles.

Shift: apply skew/shear.
Use it on the center handles.

Ctrl + Shift: distort the corners.
Use it on the corner handles.

To use any of the keys simply place the mouse cursor over one of the nodes, click + press the keys and drag the cursor.
After you have made the modifications, double-click to apply the deformation.

If you are looking for an isometric deformation (i.e. resize), simply left-click with the mouse on one of the corners and drag. You’ll notice that all corners increase or decrease equally.

These commands also work with the Object Selector tool, making it easier to deform vector objects.

If you know exactly how much of each distortion you want to apply (angles, coordinates, etc.), you might as well double-click on the Deformation tool and use a special dialog box:
