TEOM as you know it has been closed. I will keep it up for reference but it no longer will receive tutorial updates.

Paint Shop Pro 7

Easy Bunny

Create a new image.
» Settings: 400×400 pixels, 72 dpi, background color = transparent, image type = 16.7 million colors.

Set the foreground to null and background color to brown.

Rename Layer1 to Head.

With the Preset Shapes tool, create the bunny’s head.
» Settings: ellipse, retain style + create as vector = unchecked, antialias = checked.

Go to Selections – All / Float.

Apply a Cutout effect.
» Settings: vertical + horizontal = 0, opacity / blur = 25, color = a darker shade of brown, fill interior = unchecked.
Apply this Cutout on every shape you create, just changing the color where needed.

Add a new raster layer. Name it Body.

Make a big circle for the bunny’s body.

Note: To make a circle using the Preset Shapes tool simply hold down the Shift key when using the Ellipse shape.

Align the head and the body as shown below:

Add a new raster layer. Name it Ear.

Make a nice and long horizontal ellipse, on the right side of the canvas.

Go to Image – Rotate.
» Settings: direction = left, free = 10 degrees, all layers = unchecked.

Go to Selections – All / Float / Modify: Contract by 8.
Flood Fill the selection with pink, then make it float again and apply the Cutout effect changing the color to a darker shade of pink.

Duplicate the Ear layer and rotate the duplicate to right, free = 15 degrees, all layers = unchecked.
Place it a little bit lower than the other ear.

Move the Ear layer under the Head layer.

Add a new raster layer. Name it Foot.

Make an ellipse for the left foot, then rotate it 15 degrees to the left, all layers = unchecked.

Duplicate this layer, go to Image – Mirror and place the other foot on the right.

Add a new raster layer. Name it Tail.

Change the background color to light grey and make a circle for the tail, between the feet.

Add a new raster layer. Name it Face.

Set the foreground color to black and background to null.

With the Draw tool make several curves for the nose and mouth.
» Settings: type = bezier curve, width = 1, line style = #1 solid, antialias = checked, create as vector + close patch = unchecked.

Add a new raster layer. Name it Eye.

Change the foreground to null and background color to black.

With the Preset Shapes tool, create a circle close to the nose for the eye.

Change the foreground color to white.

With the Paint Brush make a dot on to top left area of the eye.
» Settings: shape = round, size = 8, hardness = 50, opacity = 100, step = 25, density = 100, build up = unchecked.

Add a new raster layer.

Change the brush’s size to 4 and make another dot on the bottom right area.

Apply a Gaussian Blur effect.
» Settings: radius = 1.
