TEOM as you know it has been closed. I will keep it up for reference but it no longer will receive tutorial updates.
There are plans for a completely new site. If you'd like to be notified once the other site is up, simply subscribe to my mailing list.

Paint Shop Pro 7
Grids

Create a new image.
» Settings: 10×10 pixels, 72 dpi, background color = white, image type = 16.7 million colors.
Solid grid:
Double-click on the Selection tool.
» Settings: left = 0, right = 1, top = 0, bottom = 10.
Flood Fill the selection with black.
Double-click the Selection tool again.
» Settings: left = 0, right = 10, top = 0, bottom = 1.
Flood Fill it again with black.
Deselect and save this image as a pattern.
Note: to set an image as a pattern all you have to do is save it as a .bmp file and place it inside PSP’s Patterns folder.

Dotted grid:
With the Paint Brush tool create several dots as shown below.
» Settings: shape = square, size = 1, hardness= 100, opacity = 100, step = 25, density = 100.

Save this image as a pattern.
Using:
To use your grid(s) all you have to do is change the style to Pattern, select the desired image and flood fill the canvas with it.
