Closed (sort of)

TEOM as you know it has been closed. I will keep it up for reference but it no longer will receive tutorial updates.

There are plans for a completely new site. If you'd like to be notified once the other site is up, simply subscribe to my mailing list.

Paint Shop Pro 7

Orb

Create a new image.
» Settings: 300×300 pixels, 72 dpi, background color = transparent, image type = 16.7 million colors.

With the Selection tool, create a circle in the middle of the canvas.
» Settings: selection type = circle, feather = 0, antialias = checked.

Flood Fill the selection with any color you wish.

Save this selection to the Alpha Channel and deselect.

With the Retouch tool lighten the bottom left area.
» Settings: Dodge, shape = round, size = 100, hardness = 0, opacity = 10, step = 25, density = 100.

Change the Retouch tool to Burn and, using the same settings as before, darken the top right area.

Add a new raster layer.

Load the selection from the Alpha Channel.

Contract the selection by 5 pixels.

With the Selection tool, press Ctrl and create another selection starting at the bottom right area, going up until the top left area.

Flood Fill the selection with white.

Deselect and apply a Gaussian Blur effect.
» Settings: radius = 5.

With the Paint Brush tool, create a small white ellipse on the top right area.
» Settings: shape = round, size = 25, hardness = 0, opacity = 100, step = 15, density = 100, build up = unchecked.

Change this layer’s blend mode to Luminance.
