Closed (sort of)

TEOM as you know it has been closed. I will keep it up for reference but it no longer will receive tutorial updates.

There are plans for a completely new site. If you'd like to be notified once the other site is up, simply subscribe to my mailing list.

Thanks for the support throughout all these years :)

» Settings: any size you wish, 72 dpi, background color = transparent, image type = 16.7 million colors.

Set the foreground to null and the background color to black.

Enter your text.
» Settings: any font & size you wish (I’m using Arial 48pt bold), vector = checked, antialias = checked.

Go to Objects – Align – Center in Canvas.

With the Object Selector tool right-click over the text and choose Copy from the pop-up menu.

Create a new vector layer and make it active.

Right-click with the Object Selector tool again and choose Paste New Vector Selection from the pop-up menu.
Center the copy as well.

Go to Image – Flip.

Move the copy down:

Go to Objects – Convert Text to Curves – As Single Shape.

Hold the Ctrl key and click with the Object Selector tool on one of the bottom corner nodes of the flipped text.
Drag it towards the outside until you get a nice perspective from your shadow.

Right-click on the shadow and choose Properties from the pop-up menu.
» Settings: fill = gradient.
» Gradient settings: #3 Fading Background, invert gradient = checked, style = linear, angle + repeats = 0.
Click OK to apply the changes.

Convert this layer to raster and apply a Gaussian Blur effect.
