TEOM as you know it has been closed. I will keep it up for reference but it no longer will receive tutorial updates.

Paint Shop Pro 7
Water Drop

Create a new image.
» Settings: any size you wish, 72 dpi, background color = transparent, image type = 16.7 million colors.
With the Selection tool, create an ellipse.
» Settings: selection type = ellipse, feather = 0, antialias checked.
Create an ellipse with the width and height almost the same, but still not looking exactly like a circle.
Save the selection to an alpha channel.
Apply a Cutout effect.
» Settings: vertical = 25, horizontal = 10, opacity = 100, blur = 75, color = black, filled with color = unchecked.
Now apply a Drop Shadow effect.
» Settings: vertical + horizontal = 5, opacity = 50, blur = 25, color = black.
Change this layer’s blend mode to Luminance.
Keep selected and add a new raster layer.
Apply another Cutout effect.
» Settings: vertical = -15, horizontal = -10, opacity = 50, blur = 25.
Change this layer’s blend mode to Overlay.
Deselect and add a new raster layer.
With the Paint Brush tool, make a small white curved line on the top left area of the ellipse.
» Settings: shape = round, size = 10, hardness = 0, opacity = 100, step = 25, density = 100, color = white.
Apply a Gaussian Blur effect.
» Settings: radius = 5.
Change the brush size to 25 and make just one dot in the middle area of the white line.
You can change this layer’s blend mode to Luminance if you wish.
To test how your water drop works, add a new raster layer and send it to the bottom.
Flood Fill it with a pattern or anything else you wish.
Load the selection from the alpha channel.
Apply a Punch effect set to 50%.
