Closed (sort of)

TEOM as you know it has been closed. I will keep it up for reference but it no longer will receive tutorial updates.

There are plans for a completely new site. If you'd like to be notified once the other site is up, simply subscribe to my mailing list.

Thanks for the support throughout all these years :)

Watermark Text

Create a new image.
» Settings: any size you wish, 72 dpi, background color = transparent, image type = 16.7 million colors.

Add a new vector layer.

Set the foreground to null and the background color to white.

Enter your text.
» Settings: vector + antialias checked.

Click on the Object Selector tool and select the text.
Right-click again and choose Create Raster Selection.

Go to Layers – Convert to Raster.

Apply a Drop Shadow effect.
» Settings: vertical + horizontal = 1, opacity = 100, blur = 2, color = black.
Deselect.

Change this layer’s opacity to 10 (or higher in case you want a more visible watermark).
Rotate the text if you wish and merge the visible layers.

Double-click on the Crop tool and choose Select Opaque Area – Current Layer.
Double-click or press Shift + R to perform the crop.

Go to File – Export – Picture Tube.
Keep all the default settings and enter a name for your tube.

Now all you have to do is apply this tube over your images to watermark them.

Note: it is a good idea to make a copy of your images before you apply the watermark otherwise you might end up with only watermarked images and no more originals.
