Closed (sort of)
TEOM as you know it has been closed. I will keep it up for reference but it no longer will receive tutorial updates.
There are plans for a completely new site. If you'd like to be notified once the other site is up, simply subscribe to my mailing list.
Thanks for the support throughout all these years :)

Working With Guides
Guides are quite an useful feature especially when you are working with web design because they can help you visualize exactly where each element will be placed on the .html file whether you slice up the image or, even better, use CSS to place each image properly on the page.
In order to work with Guides, first you need to turn the Guides on and then turn the Rulers on.
» View – Guides.
» View – Rulers (Ctrl + Alt + R).
Then, move your mouse cursor over the horizontal or vertical ruler until the cursor changes into a cross, click and drag it to the desired position on the canvas.

Since you can’t view the coordinates while dragging the guide, you might have to edit its position. In order to do so, move the mouse cursor over the starting point of the guide (on the ruler) until the cross turns into white.

Once the cursor has changed, right-click and you should get a Guide Properties dialog box.

Define any of the options you wish.
Basically that’s all you have to know.
Notes:
In case you wish to delete all the guides at once, go to View – Change Grid and Guide Properties and check “Remove all guides”. When you click OK all guides will be removed from the canvas.
Activate the Snap to Guides option if you want to crop just one part of the canvas. Plus, instead of using the Crop tool (which doesn’t snap) use the Selection tool (make sure antialias is unchecked).
Several other tools are able affected by the snap option, which is perfect for when you want to place, let’s say, a Preset Shape at a specific point and you don’t have enough patience (or time!) to keep looking at the coordinates.
You can modify the color of all guides by going to File – Preferences – General Program Preferences or by right-clicking over a guide to open the Guide Properties box.
If you wish to keep the guides for future work, save the file as .psp.
