TEOM as you know it has been closed. I will keep it up for reference but it no longer will receive tutorial updates.

    Snowscape

    In order to be able to use this filter, you must have your image promoted to a layer and that there is space for the snow to fall.
    What do I mean by space? Well, the snow will fall on top of the image, so you need to leave a few pixels for it – I usually resize my image to about 85%, but it really depends on how much snow you want.
    To resize only the layer, simply uncheck the option resize all layers. Also make sure that you are not working with selections – it seems that the filter doesn’t recognize them.

    If you want to apply it on a specific part of the image, you can select that part, then go to Selections – Promote to Layer and then deselect.

    It will work with practically all shapes and it can give quite some nice effects.
