Closed (sort of)

TEOM as you know it has been closed. I will keep it up for reference but it no longer will receive tutorial updates.

There are plans for a completely new site. If you'd like to be notified once the other site is up, simply subscribe to my mailing list.

Thanks for the support throughout all these years :)

Copy and Paste in Place

If you copy and paste an element from an image as a new layer, this element will be place in the middle of the layer.

In order for you to keep the same position as the original, forget about copy and paste…

First create a selection around whatever it is that you want to copy. Then go to Selections » Promote Selection to Layer or hit Ctrl + Shift + P.

The result is a copy on a new layer placed on the exact position as the original while the original stays in a layer below.
